The Sequin Mesh Bell Skirt goes to brunch. Georgia Browns in downtown DC.

How I wore it

How I wanted to wear it

I recently got the J Crew sequin mesh skirt in the oyster color and I was in love. I was pleasantly surprised as this skirt is so comfortable and versatile.

I planned to meet some of my twitter friends for brunch in DC on a Sunday morning and I wanted to recreate a look I had worn the day before with a leopard cardigan. However, after snapping my picture, I spilled coffee all over my cardi and I had to come out with plan B. So I wore it with a denim shirt and a vintage patent leather belt.

And of course brunch at Georgia Browns with @iwbadg and @critterblogs was great. The buffet spread was excellent and I had a wonderful mimosa. The ladies were incredibly nice and that made for a great Sunday in the District.

  2. Love the skirt, and love the post. I laughed so hard at the how I wore it/how I wanted to wear it part. Not that spilling coffee is ever laughable, but that so happens to me all. the. time.

I also heart this blog. best idea ever true crew love!

  3. Thanks ladies.
Summerilla, I really love this skirt. I am excited though, my lace skirt should be delivered today!
Kater, I felt like such a tool when I spilled coffee on my cardigan. Husband and Lola are the ones who usually spill stuff on me and they were nowhere near me when this happened.

  4. RosaLovesDC - Awesome, hopefully we'll get a skirt review from the lace as well. You bought green right? Those skirts sold super fast when they went on sale this week.

  5. Oooh, are you talking about the Severn Lace Mini? I got the grey one at full price, but managed to pick up the green one one sale + 30% off, and I love it!

  6. Yep ladies, I ordered the green one and after the 30% off, it was a great deal. Evil UPS man won't deliver it until Monday!!!

  7. Oh Jenny you got the green one too! JEALOUS. I wanted the green but I think it sold out in my size online. I might have to look.

RosaLovesDC - don't you hate when UPS holds your packages hostage, LOL.

  10. Kater, I love the look of that trench, though I am worried about the "behind" area. If you get it you must give us a review!

  11. Wow! I have been so out of the loop, or out of "this blog"! Ok, first off, 'love this blog! Thanks, Jenn, for the initial push for it! :)

Thanks for sharing pics, Rosa! I know you rarely do it, but you are looking sharp in them! I especially like your casual sparkly look that you eventually went with. Is it just me or is the skirt a little too mesh in that picture with the cardigan? :p

Kater, I love that they're doing coats in prints! I'm personally loving the puffer coat in the plaid. Yes, call me crazy.

'Can't wait for the skirt photos, ladies! :)

  12. The skirt is a little meshy and see-through (had to wear a slip) but it is really well made.

I just wanted to point out that the Starry night mini also comes in gold (I just saw that). I had seen it in the black, but the gold is gorgeous.

  13. RosalovesDC - I LOVE the starry night skirt, but the measurements are too short for me. sad. I want it in the black so bad.

  14. I have this skirt in the darker gold dust (patiently waited for my pre-order for month so that I could get a fresh one to combat my sequins OCD) and I love it so much. You show how versatile it can be. Thanks for the styling ideas.

  15. Thanks for stopping by Stephanie. I was so surprised as to how versatile this skirt is. Another outfit I tried over the holidays (but I did not snap a picture) was with a magenta cashmere sweater and the Soleil necklace. This little skirts goes with everything.

  16. Dina - you're "prof-fession" comment cracked me up! I am definitely considering the coat, especially after the approval of all you fab ladies!

I'm going to try to hold out, especially as I have a bunch of crap in the next few weeks that I will need to "reward" myself for, but I will keep everyone posted!

  17. Rosa - I am not gifted in the behind area, so that isn't something that will be an issue. Hey - maybe it will enhance what little I have and end up being a plus ha ha ha ha!

  18. Rosa, I'm totally stealing that idea. I hope you don't mind. Magenta with that skirt would be fab.

  19. Kater, LOL!

Stephanie, loving that you are gonna try the look with the magenta sweater. That's what this blog is for, so we can all share ideas.
