About Us

I'm a native New Englander, transplanted to New York City, and have always loved clothes.  But my interest in fashion really took off once I started
working on product development technology for the apparel industry.
I've learned so much and have a real passion for it.  When it comes to J. Crew, I love them for their classic, stylish pieces, especially their crisp suiting, work wardrobe staples, and
beautiful dresses.  I've also enjoyed watching them take more fashion
risks lately.  My first JCrew item was a blush-colored tee from the outlet that I still own (and still wear!) and when I'm not working (or shopping), I'm watching
American football, reading, running, or traveling.  I also contribute to the pop culture blog It's Only Bullets.

I’m an old enough to legally drink single New York gal who loves accessories, animals, and dreams of winning the lotto.  My interest in fashion began when I left my mother's womb.
I'm definitely a wannabe stylist/fashion blogger or J. Crew corporate employee. Mickey, if you are listening, I will clean your bicycle.
My love affair with J. Crew started when I received my
first catalog at Syracuse University. The sweaters were a necessity for the unbearably frigid weather.
Now I love J. Crew because of their prints, bold color, stripes, and sequins - they know how to execute all of these really well. I also love mixing formal items with casual ones, combining masculine and feminine things and pairing edgy with conservative
pieces depending on my mood.  My mom, Jenna Lyons and Marissa Webb
(natch), Olivia Palmermo, and a host of fashion bloggers that I
follow inspire what I wear. When I'm not shopping at J. Crew, I'm usually watching reality TV or reading fashion blogs or giving my sweet kitty a belly rub.

I am a post-grad school/just entering the work force J. Crew fanatic living in Washington, DC.  It all started when I was 18.  My sophisticated east-coast cousin brought my midwestern bumpkin self a J. Crew catalog right as I was preparing to leave for college on said coast.  I thought life there would be just like the pictures in the catalog, and I've attempted to make it as close as possible ever since...:)  My first J. Crew purchase, shipped to my freshmen dorm, was a pair of light blue cords that looked like jeans (so cool in my 18 y.o. opinion) and an oversized, light purple shetland crewneck sweater (HOT!  not!).  Besides J. Crew, I am a fan of all things English (including a current obsession with Kate Middleton), foodie blogs and eating out as much as possible, and my loving husband who doesn't throw too much of a fit about all my packages...

I am someone who is enthralled by the Internet, technology, and the avenues they open.  You can read any topic, be in reach to buy almost anything, plan an adventure, and talk with fabulous people. I am also clothing and lingerie buff, liking unique, quality pieces.  In my dream world, I would wear J.Crew interspersed with Valentino, D&G, Roberto Cavalli, and Blumarine, and underplay them with Aubade and Nina Ricci.
I like J.Crew's fashion-forward basics -- sweaters, tops, dresses -- and Collection pieces.  J.Crew adds a simple element of embellishment that differentiates them from other retailers in their class.  In general, they hit the mark on color and design.
I have always had an interest in fashion, but I would say my interest began in earnest in 2008 when I changed jobs and needed to build my wardrobe.  I started with J.Crew suits and a coat.
I can't name anyone or thing that inspires me.  I'm influenced by anything that catches my eye -- movies, blogs, fashion catalogs, people on the street.
I love to travel, going to the theatre, and working out (though I do this more as a necessity than a hobby :) ).  Also, I used to avidly play the piano.

I am a J.Crew addict living in the Washington, DC area. I discovered J.Crew back while attending graduate school and there was a Regional Warehouse sale on campus. I fell in love with the style and the vibrant colors of the clothes that night and since then J.Crew has always been present in my closet. I am constantly drawing inspiration from the J.Crew catalogs and Jenna Lyons’ fabulous style. My interest in fashion began at a very early age. Right before high school, I begged my grandmother to teach me to sew and I remember spending hours in her sewing machine creating my super cool clothes, well, in my teenage mind they were the best designs ever. Besides my addiction to fashion and J.Crew, I am a food enthusiast who is constantly visiting new restaurants, tasting interesting dishes and trying to capture the perfect food picture for my blog Rosa Loves... I am also in love with DC and I enjoy exploring the city with friends, my husband, and my sassy chihuahua Lola.

Oh, what a long way I've gone in fashion since this picture was taken!
I am a 9-to-5 working girl who looks forward to the workweek if only because I am able to dress up and wear the clothes in my closet. I love trying out new color & print combinations, discovering new ways to wear my old pieces and news ways to incorporate my new stuff with the old. Having said that, there’s nothing more I love than lounging around in old sweats and sweatshirts. :pWe can all blame my cousin for getting me hooked on the J.Crew. She invited me to go into a store because they were having a sale, and I bought my very first J.Crew item from that sale – a pair of white torn/distressed jeans. The ‘Crew’s style has been one I’ve long been trying to emulate – clean, chic, versatile but still on trend. From top to bottom, J.Crew’s always got something for me to spend my hard-earned money on all year long.

I have always had a love for J. Crew, but that doesn't mean that I always had style.  Unfortunately for me, my love for J. Crew started back when J. Crew was a purveyor of prairie chic more than preppy chic.  LOL.  Through it all, though, plaid, roll necks, gingham, brocade, critters, madras, and the current ubiquitous sequined pieces, I have stood by my favorite retailer.  I can pretty much guarantee that I have pieces from J. Crew that are older than college freshman (yikes!).  I don't wear them, but they can still be worn...which is probably why my loyalty stays, J. Crew has truly figured out the perfect clothing model: unique, fashionable, functional, and quality pieces at all price points.
I have done everything from working as an historical archaeologist to working on Capitol Hill to teaching American history, but my most favorite job has been my most recent...mom/mommy style blogger/fashion teacher (no, seriously, people actually pay me to teach fashion--woo!).  I have a little blog that could (amongst others) that some of you may be familiar with...My Superfluities. This is where the vast majority of my outfits, reviews, and other variety of overabundance in my life gets dissected.  Because of this, I tend to do "J. Crew Collection" reviews here where I believe the audience will enjoy it more!  Thank you for reading my bio, and if you made it to the end of my long-winded dissertation, this teacher gives you three gold stars.  :)
